FELDMAN, BROWN, DIESENDRUCK, ZACCAGNINI

On Friday, December 3rd at 8pm, Drury leads the Callithumpian Consort in performances of Morton Feldman, Earle Brown, Michele Zaccagnini, and a world premiere by Tamar Diesendruck, written expressly for the Consort. NEW RELEASES: ZORN What Thou Wilt -- OUT NOW ON TZADIK

John Zorn's What Thou Wilt has just been released on Tzadik this past October 2010. What Thou Wilt features the following performers: solo pianist Stephen Drury in (fay ce que vouldras), cellists Erik Friedlander, Fred Sherry, and Mike Nicolas in 777 (nothing is true, everything is permitted), and violinist Stephanie Nussbaum with the 2009 Tanglewood Orchestra in Contes De Fees, conducted by Ryan McAdams. DRURY PERFORMS ZORN AT BARD



Pianist Stephen Drury will be performing John Zorn's (fay çe que vouldras) at Bard Conservatory this Friday, November 12, 2010 at 8:00 pm in An Evening with John Zorn, presented by New Albion Records and the Fisher Center. The program will also include Frammenti del Sappho, performed by vocalists Lisa Bielawa, Kamala Sankaram, Abigail Fischer, Kate Mulvihill, and Kirsten Sollek, and Necronomicon performed by violinists Jennifer Choi and Jesse Mills, violist David Fulmer, and cellist Fred Sherry.

BOULEZ, BARRAQUE IN BOSTON

Thursday, November 11th kicks off the BOULEZ FESTIVAL, held this year at the Boston Conservatory. The Callithumpian Consort, directed by Stephen Drury, will perform Boulez's Le Marteau sans Maitre, Improvisation sur Mallarmé I, II (from Pli Selon Pli), and Jean Barraque's Sequence in Seully Hall at the Boston Conservatory. Contemporary vocalist Jennifer Ashe, who recently gave a flawless performance of Georges Aperghis's Récitations, will be singing the Boulez and Barraque under the baton of Jeffrey Means.

Friday, November 12th, will feature a variety of Boulez's acoustic and electroacoustic works, with clarinetist Michael Norsworthy performing Dialogue de l'ombre, violinist Gabriela Diaz performing Anthems 2, and also flutist Sarah Brady and pianist Yukiko Takagi performing Sonatine for flute and piano. Cellist Rhonda Rider, currently on faculty at Boston Conservatory and Boston University, will be performing Messagesquisse with cello students from the conservatory.
